Volkswagen to resume Russian assembly in Nizhny Novgorod Tuesday
NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Jan 11 (PRIME) -- Volkswagen Group Rus will resume production, suspended on December 14, at its Russian facilities at GAZ plant, or Gorky Automobile Plant, in Nizhny Novgorod in the Volga on Tuesday, a representative of the company told PRIME on Monday.
Volkswagen Group Rus produces SKODA Yeti, Volkswagen Jetta è SKODA Octavia cars at Russia’s GAZ plant under an agreement on contract assembly concluded with the owner of the plant GAZ Group in 2011, which is in force until 2019.
The capacity of the Volkswagen’s facilities stands at 132,000 cars annually, and the total investment in equipment and infrastructure stood at 300 million euros.
